Hello, and thanks again for coming.

I wanted to give you an opportunity to learn more about us and how we came about to be where we are today.

Well, to begin with, taking care of my ride – the right way with the right products – has been a passion of mine since I bought my first car. For over 30 years, I’ve tried many of the products that are typically offered to keep your vehicle in top shape and looking great. Over the years and in my discussions with people, I discovered that many really had no idea what made a great product or even how to correctly use one. I have always had an interest into looking deeper into what makes things work the way they do. This has led me to many informative conversations with manufacturers, detailers, motoring buffs, etc. The more I learned and coached people that I knew on proper care of their vehicles, the more I realized the need for a place for people to go to be able to learn, ask questions and purchase the truly good stuff.

Quite simply, I decided that I wanted to share my passion and experiences with you. So, in December of 2004, I opened our store - Prevette’s.

Here, no longer do you have to search for those great products that you just can’t find locally in a store. No longer do you have to wait for them to arrive or pay additional shipping costs. I’ve done the research and sought out the finest blend of each one. Because I believe in them, I have placed my own name on the label in order to offer you the best of the best in motoring care products. I call our line “Rick’s Best”. This is a growing and changing line that will continually improve. I am always looking for ways to make each and every one better in any way possible.

I also recognize that there is more to a store than just having great products. Your experience in shopping with us is very important to me. In my store, the atmosphere is unique. The lighting is bright and cheerful using as much natural light as possible. The decorating design is warm, inviting and comfortable. Walk around and enjoy our nostalgic signs. No harsh, cold metal shelving, instead I use hand made rustic wooden crates for my shelves. I have a 42” flat plasma TV mounted on the wall where we watch old car commercials from the 50’s, 60’s & 70’s, or an Indy 500 race from 1954, or drag racing from the 50’s, or . . . As you enter my store, one wall is filled with informational postings on car, truck and motorcycle shows going on throughout Iowa as well as pictures of our customers rides. When you come in, bring a picture of your ride and I will add it to the collection.

In addition to my own care line of ‘Rick’s Best’, I’ve also added quality products from many well respected companies and even some fairly unknown ones.

For your further enjoyment, I have available –

• 13 types and sizes of small applicators and swabs to deal with any type of tight area that you need to clean. They include cotton, foam, anti-static foam, chemical resistant, re-useable knit fabric and even alcohol soaked foam for bacteria removal in air vents, etc.
• 5 sizes of natural Deep Sea Wool Sponges for washing your vehicles.
• 6 kinds of microfiber towels for cleaning your glass or just about any surface.
• Color coded thick, absorbent towels for drying or chemical applications with no tags or nylon and polyester threading that can scratch the surface of your vehicle.
• Detailing supplies, including an assortment of applicator bottles and pads.
• Unique, hand made rustic wooden gift crates that you can fill with your choice of products and give as a personalized gift.
• Cut-aways of our filters and the others so that you can see the differences.
• Oil analysis service to analyze the condition of your vehicle fluids, including engine oil, transmission, differential, etc.
• Educational evening and weekend classes.
• Open samples of products that you can try before you decide to buy.
• Personalized, artistic metal cut-out’s to be made of your ride from a photograph with the look of bare metal or have it air brush painted or even powder coated.

Innovations in motoring care occur every day. I am continually adding or in some cases, changing products, as I research, discover and test more of what is available.

Bottom line - it is my goal and passion to bring together, into one place, the very highest quality goods for the care, preservation and restoration of your motoring needs. At the same time, I will work to bring you personalized, knowledgeable service along with useful and educational information. I stand behind every product 100%. I have personally picked every one and can speak from experience as I use them myself.
